Honoring Bulbul Akter, the Queen of Folk Music

Into Positive was proud to sponsor and organize an event on the 18th of August, 2023, to honor Bulbul Akter, the Queen of folk music, for her lifelong contribution to folk songs, especially in the local dialect of Chittagong.

The event was attended by Mr Shamsud Douza Nayan, Additional RRRC, Cox’s Bazar as Chief Guest and Mr Jashim Uddin, Additional SP of Traffic Police, Cox’s Bazar as the Special Guest. The event was also attended by Dr Jorge Martinez and Mr Ikteruddin Md. Bayzid, among other humanitarians of Cox’s Bazar.

The event began by handing over a Scale Changer Harmonium and a crest to the beloved singer as a token of appreciation, with Mr Saikat Mojumder, CEO/photographer of Into Positive, calling for further patronization from the community to this esteemed musician. The event ended with a beautiful live rendition of folk and popular songs by Bulbul Akter herself.

The event was also supported by Artolution and Cox’s Bazar Art Club, with Pacific Beach Lounge Café as the venue partner.

Rawful Alam

Rawful Alam, a video editor and infographic artist working with Into Positive for the last seven years, carries out the responsibility of editing all videos of the company without fail. An alumni precedent of an adolescent child group under a project sponsored by Plan International in Hatibandha, Lalmonirhat, he has fought the flood, river erosion and poverty every year to continue his education and follow his passion. Similar to his fighting spirit in life, he exhibits the same energy in his work.

Saikat Mojumder

Saikat Mojumder is an international award-winning documentary photographer and filmmaker, the CEO of “Into Positive” a creative consultancy firm based in Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. He produced numerous video documentaries on the Rohingya response for the government of Bangladesh, the United Nations and I/NGO through his company.

Samsul Alam Helal

Samsul Alam Helal is a freelance visual Artist based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his graduation in photography from Pathshala South Asian Media Institute. Helal love to make fiction question reality. His aim is to go beyond the socio-cultural and political issues which are primary interests.
